Devika, thanks again. I just visited your post. I was trying to leave my comments but...

Anyway, here's what I think of your post:

It's a very timely and thought-provoking post, Devika, in light of Obama's Peace award -- which seems inappropriate, considering the two wars he's managing. A complicated subject, philosophically and in practical terms. I think your essay captured the essence of the debate. I wish I could write as clearly.

I offer to you one other perspective:

It's Chapter 1 of Fractured Memories, a volume of verses in progress.

Peace.

Thank you so much for this, Carlos

I appreciate your poetry and the thoughts equally -- When you say of the needed reminder of 'protracted process of change --
among men, as in Nature' --

I was just thinking it was cyclical, more than a change in the essence. The core - whether its man's or nature's --remain the same -- just that its susceptible to changes in the universal forces -- no?

Isn't that why we see nature of man too as essentially unchangable?

Anyway, that reminds me of another poem of yours recently about our growth backwards...backwards or forwards, there needs maturity in thinking, mindsets...for Peace to be a reality, not just for me or you, but all...Love, unconditional is a way....But who wants it? :)

anyway, wishing you Peace too, Carlos

devika

Dear Carlos--
thank you for this post--the images are clear.

Having the courage of our contradictions is important, it seems...

Hi Beth. Thanks for that perspective. At the least we need to know what our choices are.

Hello, thank you verrrry much :))
you are absolutely right, it's The Beatles song "Because".
They were the best, werent they??

Have a nice day, ok!

Hello Mita. I like them a lot, especially their later albums. But since they disbanded, I've become mainly a "Lennonist". :)

By the way, I am fascinated by the texture of your prints/illustrations -- and the colors!

Carlos - I LOVE this one! And that sign is absolutely brilliant!

Thanks, Felicitas. These are contradictions I struggle with. It's a shame what we're leaving our children with. Then again, in moments like this, Lennon's "Imagine" come to mind. I suppose there is hope.
