Unfettered wind*

1.
We were the dusky maya.
Sometimes we flitted
among the enameled branches
of the hacendado's cage.
We mostly skipped and hopped
with pruned wings.

2.
Then we read:

"Upon freedom
from men administering men
Man will evolve to the next Unity
in the realm of Nature.

"We will be the eagle
over the bluffs
sailing the currents
of the east wind --
our nature unfettered.

"Our mind and body
uncaged."

3.
Meanwhile
we are growing back
our heart
and our wings.

Very existentialist thoughts, it seems to me, Carlos...very much engaging,

Freedom like every other idea is so relative.....

'Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past' -- George Orwell

I suppose many of us find ourselves wondering about life at different points in our lives. And depending on our cirsumstances, we do the "wondering" in differnt ways and forms. Thanks, Devika.

It's great you added a new post to your site. I'm sure Pablo N. is glad about having additional company in the person of Soren K. About the dedication -- :)

Regards.

Oh so thanks for this kind response, Carlos, :)

And, yes about the "wondering" -- we do, but then at certain points we become sure about ourselves and always have a choice....that we don't hurt any other is what needs consideration in our words and deeds...to me that has mostly been,

Taty, gracias por sus palabras buenas. Un abrazo para ti, tambien.

(I hope the above translation to Spanish by "Yahoo--Babel Fish" is correct. I am not fluent in Spanish. I only learned Spanish in school. And it was a long time ago.)

Hello Carlos!

I was happy to get the message of our Festival of Lights (Hanukkah)

..."Meanwhile
are growing again
our heart
and our wings"...

His poetry is oceans of beauty and truth.

Greetings and Shalom to you
