Rob -- The number of caskets are increasing, sadly. Hope we don't eventually become desensitized to the folly of wars and the loss of lives.

This haiku leaves me a two visions - one of fall - as in autumn, of trees losing their leaves, trees used for coffins, and of the fallen, as in soldiers. Excellent work!

Sadly, this happens. Just watched Taking Chance, and the combined thought of the movie and your poem stopped my heart for a moment.
